What are AI credits?
AI credits are usage units for AI-powered actions in ShopIQ. Whenever a merchant uses AI Chat or AI tools to perform an AI task, credits are consumed. AI credits help ShopIQ provide AI-powered workflows such as website building, product content generation, image creation, video creation, catalog creation, analytics, and business assistance.
Why does ShopIQ use AI credits?
AI-powered tasks use advanced AI models and processing systems. Credits help manage AI usage fairly across merchants and plans. This allows merchants to use AI when needed while keeping non-AI platform features, manual editing, website hosting, orders, and payments separate from AI usage.
What are examples of AI-powered tasks?
- Generating a website

Are AI credits the same as subscription fees?
No. The subscription gives the merchant access to the platform and includes a certain amount of AI credits according to the plan. AI credits are consumed only when AI-powered tasks are used. A merchant can continue using many platform features manually even if AI credits run out.
Can I buy extra AI credits?
Yes. Merchants can buy more AI credits from Settings → Credits. Additional purchased credits roll over and do not expire until used. This is different from subscription credits, which expire with the billing cycle.
What happens if my AI credits run out?
If AI credits run out, AI Chat and AI-powered workflows stop working until more credits are added. However, the website, hosting, orders, payments, manual dashboard access, manual product editing, manual content updates, manual coupon management, manual order management, connected apps, and core commerce operations continue to work.
Do AI credits affect my live website?
No. Running out of AI credits does not shut down the live website. It only stops AI-powered features until credits are added. The website, hosting, checkout, orders, payments, and manual store management continue as long as the subscription remains active.
Do unused credits roll over?
Subscription credits expire at the end of the billing cycle. Separately purchased credits roll over and do not expire until used. Merchants should check their credit balance from Settings → Credits.
AI credits are for AI usage only. They are not consumed by normal ecommerce operations such as hosting, orders, payments, manual editing, dashboard viewing, or customer checkout.
