How are third-party apps handled?

Summary

Third-party apps are external services connected to a ShopIQ store. These may include payment gateways, logistics providers, WhatsApp providers, analytics tools, ad platforms, marketplaces, and other supported integrations. Merchants are responsible for third-party accounts, fees, verification, permissions, data sharing, and provider-specific compliance.

Who this is for: Merchants who use or plan to use external apps with their ShopIQ store.

What are third-party apps?

Third-party apps are external services that connect with ShopIQ to support specific business workflows. Examples include payment gateways, logistics providers, WhatsApp providers, analytics tools, ad platforms, marketplaces, order management tools, inventory tools, domain providers, and other external services. These apps are not owned or controlled by ShopIQ.

Do third-party apps count as connected apps?

Yes. Each external third-party integration counts as a connected app under the merchant's plan. For example, Razorpay, Shiprocket, WATI, Google Analytics, and Meta Pixel each count as one connected app. Native ShopIQ features do not count as connected apps.

Who manages third-party provider accounts?

The merchant manages third-party provider accounts and is responsible for creating accounts, completing verification, paying provider fees, managing credentials, granting permissions, understanding provider rules, reviewing provider policies, resolving provider account issues, and maintaining compliance with provider requirements. ShopIQ provides the integration layer where supported.

Can third-party apps access customer data?

Yes, depending on the purpose and permissions of the app. Payment gateways process payment and checkout information, logistics providers receive delivery information, WhatsApp providers process customer communication, analytics tools may track website activity, ad platforms may process conversion or event data, and marketplaces may process order, product, or customer data. Merchants should review app permissions and provider policies before connecting.

Does ShopIQ control third-party app pricing or approval?

No. Third-party apps may have separate charges controlled by the provider — including payment gateway transaction fees, logistics charges, COD charges, WhatsApp message fees, advertising spend, marketplace commissions, and external software subscription fees. Third-party providers also control their own approval and verification processes. ShopIQ cannot guarantee provider approval.

What happens if I disconnect a third-party app?

Disconnecting a third-party app frees the connected app slot immediately. However, related workflows may stop working — disconnecting a payment gateway may affect checkout payments, disconnecting logistics may affect shipping automation, disconnecting WhatsApp may affect campaigns, disconnecting analytics may affect reporting. Merchants should review the impact before disconnecting.

Third-party apps can extend ShopIQ, but they also create external dependencies. Merchants should connect only trusted apps, review permissions, keep provider accounts secure, and understand provider fees and policies.
