Payments, Checkout & Orders
How do I receive payments?
Summary
Merchants receive payments through their connected payment gateway. ShopIQ enables payment gateway integration, but the payment is processed by the merchant's gateway account and settled according to the payment provider's rules, timelines, fees, and verification requirements.
Who this is for: Merchants who want to understand how money reaches them after customers place orders on a ShopIQ store.
How do I receive payments in ShopIQ?
To receive online payments, the merchant needs to connect a supported payment gateway to the ShopIQ store. Once the payment gateway is connected and active, customers can pay during checkout using the payment methods supported by that gateway. The payment gateway then settles funds to the merchant's bank account according to its own settlement schedule.
ShopIQ does not collect or hold payments on behalf of merchants.
What steps are required to receive payments?
- Create or access a payment gateway account
- Complete required KYC or verification
- Add bank account details in the payment gateway
- Connect the payment gateway to ShopIQ
- Configure available payment methods
- Test checkout
- Start accepting live payments
Can I receive UPI payments?
UPI availability depends on the connected payment gateway and the merchant's payment provider setup. If the gateway supports UPI and the merchant account is approved for UPI payments, customers may be able to pay through UPI during checkout.
Can I receive international payments?
International payment support depends on the connected payment gateway, merchant eligibility, currency support, business type, and provider rules. For example, Stripe and PayPal may support international payment workflows in certain markets, subject to account approval and compliance requirements. Merchants should check directly with their payment provider.
How long does settlement take?
Settlement time depends on the payment gateway. ShopIQ does not control settlement timelines. Merchants should check their payment gateway dashboard or provider agreement for settlement cycle, payout timing, holidays, holds, reserves, and dispute-related delays.
What if payment is successful but order is not visible?
The merchant should check both ShopIQ order records and the payment gateway dashboard. Possible causes may include payment status delay, webhook delay, gateway communication issue, checkout interruption, or order sync delay. If the issue continues, the merchant should contact ShopIQ Support or the Implementation Partner and keep the payment gateway transaction ID ready.
What if order is visible but payment failed?
The merchant should check the payment status before fulfilling the order. If payment failed, the merchant should not ship the order unless they have arranged another payment method with the customer. The merchant remains responsible for verifying payment before fulfillment.
Does receiving payments consume AI credits?
No. Receiving payments does not consume AI credits. AI credits are consumed only when the merchant uses AI-powered workflows.
Important things to know
Merchants should never fulfill an order only based on assumption. Before shipping, merchants should verify order status, payment status, customer details, and stock availability. Payment settlement, gateway fees, refunds, and disputes are handled by the payment provider.
